قَالَ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ سِمَاکٍ عَنْ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ فِي قُبَّةٍ فِي مَسْجِدِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَقَالَ فِيهِ إِنَّهُ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ حَتَّی يَقُولُوا لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ نَحْوَهُ
عبیداللہ، اسرائیل، سماک، نعمان بن سالم، ایک صحابی سے روایت ہے کہ رسول کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ہم لوگوں کے پاس تشریف لائے اور ہم لوگ اس وقت مدینہ منورہ کی مسجد میں ایک قبے کے اندر تھے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا مجھ پر وحی ہوئی ہے کہ میں (کافر) لوگوں سے جہاد کروں تاکہ وہ لَا اِلَہَ اِلَّا اللہ کہیں (ہم نے اس جگہ لفظ قتال کا ترجمہ جہاد سے اس وجہ سے کیا ہے کہ دراصل آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کا کفار سے جنگ کرنا جہاد تھا) باقی روایت مندرجہ بالا مضمون جیسی ہے۔
It was narrated that An Numan bin Salim said: “I heard Aws say: ‘I came to the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم among the delegation of Thaqlf and I was with him in a tent. Everyone in the tent had gone to sleep except him and I. A man came and whispered to him, and he said: Go and kill him. Then he said: Does he not bear witness to La ilaha illallah (there is none worthy of worship except Allah) and that I am the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم? He said: He does bear witness to that. The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: Leave him alone. Then he said: I have been commanded to fight the people until they say La ilaha illallah. If they say it, then their blood and their wealth become forbidden to me, except for a right that is due. (One of the narrators) Muhammad said: I said to Shu’bah: ‘Doesn’t the Hadith contain: Does he not testify to La ilaha illallah (there is none worthy of worship except Allah) and that I am the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم?” He said: ‘I think it is both, but I do not know.” (Sahih)
